Each town decorates outside of the blooming point. Uniqueness is enhanced. Products people and stories are attractive and fascinating. We need to “put out” the history and the uniqueness.

I live in the US. Any time I meet an American who visited Italy, he or she, with dreaming eyes,  immediately launches into the story of the trip made a few or many years earlier. Obviously they are  is a small statistical sample but in 3 decades I have heard many stories, all made with the same expression, and all getting to the same point: Zero% of those I met who were in Italy told me about the Colosseum or Michelangelo’s David. Everyone, 100%, described to me in great details a restaurant where they happened to arrive by chance and where, after the meal, mum or dad came out of the kitchen and offered them limoncello or other homemade liqueurs. The story continues with the names of both the restaurateur, the description of the children and the occupation they have. It wasn’t a shared limoncello at the end of the meal. They met and, for a brief Moment, they opened a window on each other’s life. Bytheway, without speaking the same language.

This innate openness towards the guests, the affection with which we treat a newly met person, the ease with which we open the door to the new guest is our UNIQUENESS.

For example in Japan out of respect and tradition, in the US because at the restaurant every one is an employee of a chain without personal interests, for who knows what reason in northern Europe, but the distance between guest and restaurateur is often what we take away. from one place. In Italy probably, in Tuscia certainly, it is easier to find talkers than taciturn and unfriendly waiters.

Upon returning to America, after having ordered wine or oil that arrives comfortably at home,  the best gift a tourist can take home is the memory.
